What I love about the wine
Domaines Ott BY.OTT Rosé is a great suggestion to for a new or seasoned Rosé drinker! It smells as good as it tastes. As you can tell from the wine list in the table of contents tab, I am still pretty new to Rosé. And that is ok, that is what this wine club is all about, getting explore new wines and spirits, (or tea’s and coffee’s). I recently sent out a new referral letter requesting Rosé, so I got a few more to try. I am not one to throw out a bottle of wine before tasting it but I have certainly opened up a bottle of Rosé before and it smelt like a beer burp and I just couldn’t bring myself to drink it. I don’t know enough about Rosé to know if that is normal but for me if it smells gross I just can’t enjoy it. BY.OTT Rosé did not have that problem. I took a sniff and quickly went in for a sip. It’s light, dry and acidic enough to enjoy with a full meal.
But how does it taste?
Domaines Ott BY.OTT Rosé, gave me nothing to work off of from its back label. It was a gift so luckily I had nothing to lose. I enjoyed the tastes of crisp, citrus fruits and hint of strawberry. Even though it is a more dry Rosé, it was easy to drink especially when it was first taken out of the fridge. It was less acidic at first but I do feel that as it got a little warmer it did become slightly more acidic.
So the lesson is simple… Drink it cold! Don’t lollygage while drinking it like I did, that way you get the most of its ease to drink quality. As you can see, from the almost empty bottle, my friends drank it much faster and didn’t leave me much for seconds.
