What I love about the wine
Saint Clair Sauvignon Blanc may be the lightest Sauv Blanc I have had to date. Dangerously light. Every sip was so smooth and so easy to drink, that it almost reminded me of the fruit infused spa water. I felt like there wasn’t any particular characteristic of this wine that was overpowering. It’s so well balanced. It is Dry but light. It is acidic but not tart. If you had a blank canvas of alcohol and infused it with equal parts lemons, limes, and green apples then threw in a hint of minerals that is what I felt was in this bottle of wine. It truly remind me of spa water. I am going to try it again but add in some sliced citrus fruits, just to see if it elevates my experience even more.
But how does it taste?
Saint Clair Sauvignon Blanc, back label ends it’s description of the wine with “finishes with a signature hint of fresh, salty sea air.” I am not sure if that line is just meant to mentally take you to the coast, or actually help you know what to expect from this bottle of wine. But it is a great line for this bottle of wine.
I didn’t get too much of all the other tropical fruits it states. I tasted more lemon, lime, and green apple. But the salty sea air was a perfect way to describe the mineral taste to this bottle of wine. For having 13% ABV Saint Clair Sauv Blanc, is insanely light. It is so balanced and easy to drink I am going to have to tell you to drink it with food because the bottle goes down fast!
