What I love about the wine
Honig Cabernet Sauvignon is a steal at $40! I have blogged about Honig wines before and I will continue to try their wines. Not only do I love that the Honig family is serious about sustainability, but every bottle of wine I have tried from their vineyard is really spectacular. This is a fancy bottle of wine and even at $60 I am fine purchasing it, because every time I see it on a restaurants wine list I am buying it for double, and still feel it is worth it. So for Country Wine and Spirits to sell it for $40 I understand why they are frequently sold out. I love how rich the wine is yet it is not too strong or overpowering. Impressively smooth to have such a high alcohol by volume level. (14.8%)
But how does it taste?
Honig Cabernet Sauvignon, is full over dark fruit flavors with a hint of oak, vanilla, and a nice long finish. It is not extremely dry but very bold. While high in alcohol content it is not too spicy and not too acidic. Zero burn on the way down. Honig has managed to pack a lot in this bottle wine without too much of a punch.
